'Parking Not to Obstruct Traffic' Ordinance Amended
At the Board of Alderman meeting on Jan. 16, 2024, municipal code Section 355.020 was amended to change the required width between parked cars on any street, not including alleys.
Ordinance 355.020 (Parking Not to Obstruct Traffic) has been amended to read:
“No person shall park any vehicle upon a street, other than an alley, in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than twelve (12) feet of width of the roadway for free movement of vehicular traffic.”
The previous requirement was 10 feet, however our fire engine is now over 10 feet wide. This ordinance change was made for safety reasons and to allow emergency vehicles (like ambulances, fire trucks & snow plows) free access on our roadways. (Real Estate Flyer).png)
