NOTICE OF EXISTENCE OF USE TAX; USE TAX RATE;
APPLICABILITY; AND RATE MODIFICATION REQUIREMENT
as required by CCS for HCS for SS for SCS for SB Nos. 153 & 97
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the City of Glendale that the City of Glendale has previously adopted and has in force a use tax which applies to and impacts certain purchases from out-of-state vendors. The use tax rate is equal to the total local sales tax rate in effect in the City of Glendale. Certain purchases from out-of-state vendors will become subject to an expansion of the use tax as provided by state law at the following rate within the City of Glendale:
City of Glendale Rate: 1.5%
Pursuant to Section 144.761 RSMo, an amendment or repeal to local use taxes must be submitted to and approved by voters from a city. In the event 15% of the registered voters of a city voting in the last gubernatorial election sign a petition calling for an election to repeal the local use tax, such city shall submit to the registered voters a proposal to repeal the use tax pursuant to Missouri statutes.

Garage sales are permitted in Glendale if the following regulations are met:
- Signs used to indicate the sale may not be placed within 15 feet of the paved portion of the street and will be no larger than 4 square feet.
- No more than 1 sign per lot.
- Signs can only be posted between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. and must be removed the day of the sale.
- Any signs to be posted along Lockwood Blvd. must have a permit from St. Louis County.
City Hall will be closed to observe the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The Police and Fire Departments are open all days of the year.
No one is allowed to park on Glendale city streets between the hours of 2:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. Should you need to park your car on the street overnight or have overnight guests, please contact the Police Department at (314) 965-0000 or stop by City Hall for a parking variance application. If you live on a private street parking may be allowed.

Real estate signs stating “sold” or “leased” are prohibited under our city code and the Police Department has the right to remove these signs.
