Boards & Commissions

Your help is needed. There are citizen Boards and Commissions that contribute to making Glendale the best it can be. These Boards and Commissions are comprised of volunteers from within the community who serve without compensation. Generally, these groups make recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen regarding actions and policies affecting municipal government, City departments and the community.

The following Boards and Commissions are listed below:

ARCHITECHTUAL REVIEW BOARD
The Architectural Review Board assures that new construction meets high quality standards and is in general conformity with the style and design of surrounding structures by considering all exterior aspects of a structure and their location.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Board of Adjustment primarily hears appeals for variances of the City’s Zoning Regulations.

PLAN COMMISSION
The City Plan Commission primarily makes recommendations to the City Council on petitions for changes of zoning, subdivisions and Special Land Use Permits.

TREE BOARD
The Tree Board assists in the selection, planting and maintenance of trees within the city's limits.
