Parks and Recreation Partnerships

Parks and Recreation Partnerships

In 1998, the residents of Glendale approved a tax, which allowed the city to form a partnership with the cities of Kirkwood and Oakland to operate an aquatic center. Glendale paid a per capita share of the construction of this facility, allowing our residents rights to the facility in Kirkwood. “Recreation Station”, as this facility is called, is located at the corner of Geyer and Monroe in Kirkwood Park. Information regarding this facility is as follows:

The Kirkwood Community Center is located at 111 S. Geyer Road. The phone number is (314) 984-6971 or (314) 822-5855. For more information, please visit their website at http://www.kirkwoodmo.org/content/1855/aquatic-center.aspx

In order to use the Aquatic Center, Glendale residents need a Resident ID Card. Glendale ID cards are valid for 3 years and can be purchased at the Kirkwood Community Center with photo ID and proof of residency (utility bill, occupancy permit etc.)
