Electronics Recycling
- The City has received a grant from the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, which means that residents of St. Louis County may recycle up to two negative value items for FREE.
- Common negative value items include:
- CRT Monitors and TVs: These contain leaded glass and other toxic substances, requiring specialized and costly disposal methods to prevent environmental contamination.
- Old Printers and Copiers: These devices often contain hazardous toner, rare metals, and difficult-to-recycle plastics, adding to the complexity and cost of their recycling.
- Items containing freon (ex. refrigerators or air conditioners).
- A list of negative value items accepted by MRC and the associated fees is available on the MRC website.
- Please review this list of accepted items. Please note that this document also indicates the type of negative value items accepted and their cost. This website also lists items that are not accepted by MRC.
- The document shredding services are provided free of charge, but each vehicle is limited to 3 banker-sized boxes (Length: 15 inches. Width: 12 inches. Height: 10 inches).
- Documents/papers will not be shredded on site but will be locked in containers and transported to MRC's facility for shredding.
