On Wednesday and Thursday last week (June 23-27, 2018) members of the Apparatus Committee ( Lieutenant Matt Hawkins, Firefighter/Paramedic Greg Kozlowski) traveled to Pennsylvania to do a final inspection of the new Fire Department Pumper. From this point it will be driven from Pennsylvania to Springfield, Missouri. Once there it will have finishing touches put in place striping, tool mounts and those types of items. The Fire Department is expecting to take delivery Mid August.
Captain Kauffeld, Firefighter/Paramedic Greg Kozlowski, and Fire Chief Curtis VanGaasbeek were in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania for the midpoint inspection of the new fire apparatus.
The truck committee did a great job of “specing” out the new truck for the City of Glendale and the citizens it serves. The Fire Department is about to hit a milestone at this time of renewal within the City of Glendale.
The fire Department should take delivery around the same time as completion of the fire station. None of this could have been accomplished without the overwhelming support of the citizens of Glendale/Warson Woods.
