The Glendale Police Department would like to remind our residents that it is illegal to discharge fireworks within the City of Glendale and also throughout St. Louis County. Discharging fireworks can disturb the peace of our residents and is very hard on pets. Please be respectful of your neighbors.
The City of Glendale ordinance pertaining to fireworks is as follows:
SECTION 215.195: FIREWORKS, EXPLOSIVES, ETC. – DISCHARGE
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, offer for sale, expose for sale, use, discharge or explode any blank cartridge, toy pistol, toy cannon or cane in which explosives are used; or the type of toy balloon which requires fire underneath to propel the same; or firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, Roman candles, aerial salutes, bombs, colored fires or colored torches or displays or other fireworks of any kind whatsoever. Nothing herein shall prohibit a duly authorized fireworks display by City permit subject to Chapter 31 of the 1999 BOCA Fire Prevention Code. (R.O. 2010 §215.170; CC 1970 §19-14.1; Ord. No. 26-80 §1, 11-25-80; Ord. No. 02-02 §1, 2-4-02)
We encourage our residents to abide by this ordinance as fireworks can be very dangerous to those who are shooting them off, watching them being discharged and the personal property in the area.
Please report any fireworks being discharged within the City of Glendale.
