Job Posting: Fire Chief – PT
The City of Glendale, MO is recruiting an experienced leader and skilled manager to serve as its next Fire Chief. This position is part-time and expected to work 24 hours per week based on a schedule mutually agreed upon with the City Administrator. The Fire Chief position is a very visible member of the senior leadership team of the City and requires well-developed leadership abilities and management skill sets that are based upon consensus building and problem solving. He/she must be a highly motivated, self-starting, and confident individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The City is seeking progressive candidates committed to excellence in fire service.
The City of Glendale Fire Department is staffed by 12 full-time uniform personnel, in addition to the PT Fire Chief. Firefighters, Lieutenants, and Captains are represented by the International Association of Firefighters Local 2665. Each shift has a Captain, a Lieutenant, and two Firefighters.
The City of Glendale has a population of 5,925 and covers approximately 1.29 square miles. Glendale also provides fire services to neighboring Warson Woods, which has a population of 1,921 and covers 0.58 square miles, including a greater commercial area than in Glendale. Under the general direction of the City Administrator, the Fire Chief oversees and manages the delivery of fire services to both communities, including, but not limited to, fire suppression, fire marshal, and public education programs.

Firefighter Paramedic Position
Applications for this position are always being accepted for the Firefighter Paramedic position.
Current Job Requirements: St. Louis County Fire Academy Certification Firefighter I and II, Current CPAT, Licensed Missouri Paramedic. State of Missouri Hazardous Materials Operations and Awareness level certification, AHA certification in the following doctrines BLS for Healthcare provider, ACLS, and PALS, Certification in ITLS or PHTLS. Valid Missouri Driver’ License
