NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
This program is held on the first Thursday in May in the City Hall parking lot beginning at 7:00 p.m. representatives from churches serving Glendale within the City and surrounding areas will host this nondenominational program. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this program, which consists of music, prayer, and fellowship. In case of rain, the program is moved indoors to the City Hall Auditorium.

JAZZFEST
The Annual Women’s Club Jazzfest consists of a variety of jazz bands performing live on the lower parking lot of the City Hall Complex. Food and beverages are provided by local caterers at a minimal cost. The Jazzfest is typically held the Friday before Memorial Day and is a favorite among many Glendale residents.

GLENDALE NIGHT OUT
In order to get the residents to know their fellow neighbors in the community, this event is help in cooperation with National Night Out on the Police parking lot beginning at 6:30 p.m. Included in our “Night Out” are clowns, face painting and balloon animals for the children, live music for everyone to enjoy and plenty of food and drink. The Fire, Police and Public Works Department will have vehicles and equipment on display and for demonstration. Don’t miss this annual July event!

GLENDALE HISTORICAL SOCIETY’S ICE CREAM SOCIAL
The Glendale Historical Society holds their annual Ice Cream Social the Friday before Labor Day in the upper City Hall Complex lot starting at 6:30 p.m. Stop by to visit with your neighbors and enjoy cupcakes and ice cream!

ERNIE BAKER FIREHOUSE RUN
This end of the summer event is held the latter part of October and is a great event for all ages. For the more serious runners, we will have a two (2) mile and/or five (5) mile run and for those of you who want to walk for fun, there is a special one (1) mile fun walk/run. Awards, ribbons and prizes are handed out to all participants.

ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
The City’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is held in early December in the evening. Please join us in singing carols, lighting the Christmas tree, having a cup of hot chocolate with a neighbor and enjoying a visit from Santa.
