The City of Glendale ADA Title II Program

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), enacted on July 26, 1990, provides comprehensive rights and protections to individuals with disabilities in the areas of employment, State and local government services, public accommodations, and telecommunications. The ADA Title II prohibits all state and local governments from discriminating on the basis of disability, but moreover, its goal is to promote equality of opportunity and full participation. The City of Glendale works to ensure that every program, service, benefit, activity and facility operated or funded by the City of Glendale is accessible to, and useable by, people with disabilities. The City strives to eliminate barriers that may prevent persons with disabilities from access to or participation in City programs, services, activities, and facilities.

The City Administrator is the ADA Title II Coordinator for the City of Glendale and coordinates the City’s efforts to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The ADA Title II Coordinator is available to answer questions from both the public and City employees about accommodating persons with disabilities and Title II of the ADA.

ADA Title II Grievance Procedure

The City of Glendale is committed to providing and ensuring programmatic, communication and architectural access.

Complaints that a City program, service, or activity is not accessible to persons with disabilities should also be directed to the ADA Coordinator within 30 (thirty) business days after the complainant becomes aware of the alleged violation.  Complaints can be made by filling out the ADA Title II Non-Compliance Complaint Form.  Instructions for how and where to submit this form are provided at the bottom of the form.

An appeal of the decision of the initial ADA Title II complaint can be made by filling out the Appeal Form.  Instructions for how and where to submit this form are provided at the bottom of this form.

Alternative means of filing a complaint or an appeal will be made available upon request by contacting the ADA Title II Coordinator.

All complaints and appeals will be maintained in the City’s ADA complaint file for a minimum of 5 (five) years.

Notice Under The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)
